☆French Tip Overlay 2☆

Long time no see~!!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend(^o^)/


Finally, my nail which had a French Tip Overlay done
grew enough and I can now show you
how to do Back-Fill and Fill-In today!!

Back-Fill creates a new french smile line
over the area where the new nail growth is exposed.

Fill-In fills the gap between the end part of
acrylic and the cuticle line.

We do Back-Fill on 〇
and Fill-In on 〇.


Let's start preparing for back-fill first!!

1. File down the area which you can see the nail growth.



...or you can use a drill if you have.

Drills are often used at nail salons
to speed up the process.


File carefully, creating a round shape
for the new french smile line
(it doesn't have to be a perfect round shape).




 2. Now we prepare for fill-in.
File down and remove lifted acrylic.



This is how it looks so far...

Yep, doesn't look nice yet(^-^)



3. Push up the cuticle and apply primer only on the natural nail.

(Please DO NOT TOUCH the skin or the cuticle with the primer brush)



4. Apply white acrylic on the free edge.




5. Create a smile line with the tip of the brush.




6. Apply a clear (or pink) acrylic on the cuticle area.




7. File → Sponge Buffer → Shiner
to shape and make it shiny!!




COMPLETED!!!!

Now, remember to wash hands and apply cuticle oil(^-^)/

☆French Tip Overlay☆

Good evening!!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!

Today,
I'd like to show how to do French Nails with acrylics.

There are 2 methods to make french nails
using acrylics...


No.1 is to make french tips with acrylics by yourself.
 

or

No.2, by using white tips.
↓
 



I'm going to show you method No.2 today!!




☆Prep the white tips☆


1. Soak a white tip in warm water to make it soft.
Stick the tip into something round (a cap of a pen etc.)
 to make nice C curve, and put it in warm water again.
   


Can you see the difference??
They're the same tips but the right one has more curve
than the left one.
 



2. File down the base to fit
onto your hyponichium.
(What is Hyponichium??-click here )
 



3. File down the sides as well to make them straight.
 


This is the difference(^-^)
A nice and round smile line is created!!
 




☆Prep the nails☆


1. File down the natural nails to make them short.
 



2. Push up cuticles and buff the surface to make them rough.
 



3. Apply pre-primer and primer.
(please Do Not Touch cuticle or skin with the primer brush.)
 



☆French Tip Overlay☆


1. Attach the white tip onto the very end of the natural nail
with glue and hold it for 20~30 seconds.
 


Please make sure the nail tip looks straight along the natural nail.
 



2. Cut the tip with a tip cutter or nail nipper.
( Please support the end of the nail tip to avoid it flying)
 


It looks like this so far(^-^)
 



3. Apply clear acrylic mixture onto the nail tip,
entire nail plate and little bit on the highest point of the nail.
   



4. Pinch from the sides using C curve stick or
in between thumb nails.
 



5. File to shape the nails.
Straight free edge,
 

under the free edge and sidewalls.
 



6. Buff with sponge buffer→shiner
to make them nice and shiny!!
 




COMPLETED!!!!
 



The best thing about this method is
  this perfect smile line
which might be difficult to make with method No.1
 when you just started learning about acrylics.



French nails are always elegant and pretty!!
